From The Winemaker
A super dry but intensely aromatic cold climate Riesling, tightly focused & pure. Fermented on lees in old puncheons for a slippery texture with flinty sulphides to tame the bracing acidity. Grown at the beautiful Bundaleera vineyard in Relbia, northern Tasmania (lower Tamar Valley). Hand picked and whole bunch pressed, the pristine juice is then transported back to Bellwether in Coonawarra for ferment. Gingerbread and frangipani and a whole lot of effortless, slurpy drinkability.
About the Winery
Bellwether was established in 2009 by Sue Bell, Aussie industry prodigy and dux of the highly exclusive Len Evans Tutorial.
Sue’s interest in the interaction of viticulture and other agriculture - she’s also a champion vegetable-grower! - inspired a focus on specially-selected small parcels of fruit, both at the company’s Coonawarra base and carefully curated from elsewhere in Australia.
