Spinifex TempranilloRegular price $28.00
|Aroma & Palate||Raspberry and blackcurrant, bursting with juice|
Powdery tannin, white pepper and mulberry burst forth from this intriguing offering. Medium-bodied, bright and just a little funky, with Spinifex’s minimal-intervention winemaking with a decent time on lees and this wine’s single-vineyard origins likely contributing to the amount of personality on display. Youthful and vibrant, but with a few raisin-fruitcake notes that betray an old soul.
Tempranillo is vital, youthful and vigorous.
Bright, punchy fruit aromatics of damson plum and mulberry sit above darker dried herb and wood smoke notes.
Mid weight palate with lively red berry and tart stone fruit flavours that mesh with nervy, bright fruit acids and light, snappy tannins.
Harvested from a single, elevated vineyard in the southern Barossa foothills.
Hand picked early in the season to capture lively fruit and retain natural fruit acids, selected bunches were fully destemmed prior to fermentation in a small open fermenter. The young wine was allowed to mature on its lees for six months prior to bottling without filtration.
