Byrne Flavabom White Field BlendRegular price $25.00
|Aroma & Palate||Buttery & bright with apricot jam|
|Varietal||Muscadelle, Chenin Blanc, Colombard, Semillon|
|Style||Full & satisfying|
From Byrne’s “Flavabom” range, but a little more dignified than that might imply. Low-yield Muscadelle, Semillon, and Chenin Blanc vines aged with judicious oak bring a rich but eminently quaffable air to the proceedings, all creamy texture and apricot richness, and the Colombard planted alongside cuts through any flab with a bright lemon-sherbet acidity.
Fans of classic-style Chardonnays, well-made vanilla ice cream or a good citrus sorbet might find this one particularly intriguing.
A secret mix, in an ancient practice, of co-harvesting and blending in the field. Co-fermented from intuitively selected grapes grown in the estate on low yielding, older vines of Muscadelle, Chenin Blanc, Colombard and Semillon.
The contrast of co-fermenting rather than post blending, allows the fruits flavours to develop in synergy and by not needing to add any acid, results in a naturally harmonious wine. The influence of the French oak hit to these seamless fruit flavours is a layered and complex wine made to suit food.
