Aroma & Palate
French toast, white fruit
Varietal Chardonnay
Style Effortlessly charming

Our Notes

Light for the style from the standpoint of mouth or tongue alike, this charming drop combines the classic Chardonnay notes of white peach and apricot with some classic Chardonnay toastiness without ever being too, well, classic Chardonnay. Acid-forward, relatively, which might be the secret.

Winemakers Comments

The Stonehorse wines are full of character like the teams of Clydesdale horses that used to work the heavy clay soil at the Kaesler vineyard, long before tractors were invented. An assemblage of estate vineyards ranging in age from 15 to 45 years in age.

About the Winery

Blue-chip Barossa operation Kaesler is notable for some seriously old vineyards and for some irreverent naming choices on big-ticket wines ("The Old Bastard" and "The Bogan", both critically-revered Shirazes). Winemakers Stephen Dew and Reid Bosworth run Saint & Scholar, also featured this month, as an Adelaide Hills passion project.

A most drinkable pinot gris with a slightly sweeter flavour without the harsher overtones of similar products.

19 crimes wines

I have found 19 crimes wines to be exceptional wines. Especially the Savignon Block and Cali Rose. I have only recently started drinking these wines but feel they are different than most other brands Ihave tried. I will be buying only these 2 wines in the near future.
